A New Town

I arrived around mid-day
In mid-January
With a hangover

After dumping my belongings
In any appropriate place
I lay
On the un-sheeted bed
With my boots on
An listened
To the sounds of west Glasgow
Through the broken window panes

The never ending traffic
Creating a constant
Humming ambience
That was contained
By the grey, dull, damp weather
That was sitting on the city

I felt strange
Lying there
Looking at the blackening sky
And listening
To the sounds of the city
Wondering
If it was going to be
Good to me

A Magnetto Influence Poem
